Marketing is such a small niche that if I can do it anyone can. Hey, everyone, I’m Neil Patel, and today I’m going to share with you how I got over 100,000 YouTube subscribers in less than one year.

0:25 The first thing you need to know is that you have to be consistent. Everyone’s like oh I’m going to create content. Whether it’s for a blog or YouTube or anything whatever marketing channel you end up going after you need to be consistent. Aim for ideally three videos per week. That’s what I found to be the magic sweet spot and by doing that, you get consistent growth. That’s led me to over 9,000 YouTube subscribers per month organically without spending any money on paid outs. So be consistent.

0:51 Secondly, you need to optimize your YouTube videos. Thumbnails need to be attractive. Don’t use that still image from the video. Create some animated funny type of images so that way you get those amazing thumbnails that people want to keep clicking on because YouTube’s looking at clickthrough rate. If you want to optimize your videos, from the title make sure the keywords are in there, the tags. Your videos ideally should be more than five minutes to gain YouTube subscribers.

1:55 I’ve also learned, and this is the next tip, you need to showcase emotion. Don’t be boring and dry in your videos. If I was like talking like this. Hey everyone today I’m going to talk about how I got over 100,000 YouTube subscribers to my page.

If I talked like that what would you do? You’d be like back or X. You wouldn’t want to watch me anymore. Make sure you’re entertaining, or you have high energy, or you’re passionate. If you don’t love what you’re doing, don’t create videos on it create something else, because when you’re truly passionate you won’t have to try to have high energy. Instead, you’ll naturally have it.

2:39 One of the other important things that I learned, and I learned this from Adam from Viewership.com this is one of the best tips that I ever got, and he’s helped me with my YouTube marketing strategy, is don’t upload a video. You need to transcribe your videos. And we transcribe every single one. And there’s a lot of services out there, and they do it for like a dollar, and one of those services is Rev.com. And we use them, not affiliated with them. I don’t have affiliate commission. They transcribe your videos for pennies on the dollar. When you take that transcription you upload it to YouTube; they love it. It helps them rank your video better.

Yes, their technology dissects what you’re saying, and they can automatically put that CC or the captions in there. But still, you don’t get as much of a ranking boost compared to if you manually transcribe your video and upload that to YouTube. Props to Adam for Viewership for teaching me that. And when we did that it helped our rankings and YouTube subscribers quite a bit. But you can’t do that three months after you create the video. Yes, it’s better than not doing it, but ideally, as you upload a video from day one, you need to upload that.

3:34 And here’s another amazing tip for you that most people don’t know about YouTube it’s the opposite of traditional SEO. With traditional SEO you want to end up making it where hey write amazing content, keep updating and over time your rankings increase. With YouTube, they typically look at how your video does in the first 48 hours, and more specifically, the first 24 hours. If your video does extremely well right when it comes out the gate, then it tends to do well throughout the lifespan of the video. But if it bombs in the first 48 hours, it’s going to be really hard to get those videos to climb up and rank well and get suggested more.

4:26 The sixth tip I have for you is asking for engagement within your videos. For example, if people, you think they’re going to have questions about a specific tip that you gave tell them to leave a comment. Such as, hey if you guys aren’t sure if you’re using these tips right leave a comment below and I’ll answer and respond to them.

So on that note, I wish you the best of luck in getting it to 100,000 YouTube subscribers within 12 months. I know I did it. It worked for me; it can work for you. If you enjoyed this video, as I mentioned, like, comment, subscribe. Leave a comment below if you have any questions, and I’ll be there to help you out. Best of luck with your YouTube career.
